WILTON — Police say employees from Sykes and Barclays call services were evacuated for about two hours Thursday night after a bomb threat was received at the 128 Weld Road site, formerly the company offices of Bass Shoe.
Employees from Sykes and Barclays were escorted from the building after the 6:30 p.m. threat and the area was secured.
The Maine State Police responded with two bomb-sniffing dogs, Wilton Police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m., the building was deemed safe and employees returned to work, she said.
The Wilton Police Department is following up on several leads in the case and is being assisted in its investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
Staff from the town’s police and fire departments evacuated the building and NorthStar Ambulance remained in the area for safety, Wilcox said.
