GORHAM — Jacob R. “Jake” Lord, 18, a resident of Jay, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Gorham, where he was a student at University of Southern Maine.
He was born March 19, 1993, in Farmington, the son of Larry and Sandra (Richard) Lord. Jake went to school in Jay and was a 2011 graduate of Jay High School. He participated in AYS and was active in all sports at Jay High School, baseball, basketball and football; Jake also had the honor of being a Boys State participant.
He loved his position as catcher in baseball and loved playing for the American Legion Farmington Flyers Baseball Team. Jake enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.
He is survived by his parents, Larry and Sandra Lord of Jay; his sister, Jenna Lord of Boston; his maternal grandmother, Geraldine Richard of Jay; paternal grandparents, Donna Lord of Fayette and David Lord and his wife, Marilyn, of Fayette; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
