Bridge repair

Issue: The Furbush Road Bridge needs to be repaired.

The scoop: The Maine Turnpike Authority has proposed raising the clearance height to 15 feet, 6 inches and expanding the lanes from 10 feet across to 12 feet. It’s a $2.8 million project.

Up next: Work would be done, and the bridge closed, from mid-June 2012 to November 2012. Pleasant Hill Road, Route 126, Marsh Road and Fisher Farm Road would be used as part of the detour.
