FARMINGTON — A suspect in an armed robbery last Friday in Wilton is expected to make his first court appearance on the charge in Franklin County Superior Court on Friday.
Robert T. Judd, 32, of Livermore Falls was arrested by Auburn police Wednesday after being treated for a drug issue Tuesday night at St. Mary’s hospital in Lewiston, police said.
Judd ran from an Auburn officer while being interviewed Tuesday night in New Auburn and gave a false name to police, Deputy Chief Jason Moen said. Judd was not armed at the time.
“He was under the influence of some type of drug and exhibited medical symptoms that required hospitalization. He was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s hospital before we could confirm his identity,” Moen stated in an email.
Judd spent the night at the hospital. After Auburn police learned of Judd’s real identity and the robbery warrant posted on him, they arrested him there Wednesday morning, he said.
The Wilton Police Department sought the public’s help Tuesday to find Judd after posting a warrant for his arrest on a charge of felony robbery. He was a suspect in an armed robbery of a Wilton man who was injured Friday night on Curve Street.
Judd was taken from the Androscoggin County Jail to the Franklin County Detention Center late Wednesday afternoon and he remained there Thursday.
Bail for the armed robbery charge has been set at $10,000 cash, according to an officer at the detention center. Judd also faces two additional warrants for failure to appear. Bail was set at $100 for one charge and $300 for the other.
