AUBURN — Howard Feldman, 67, of Auburn died in his home surrounded by his family Sunday, Dec. 18.
Howard was born in Boston, Oct. 31, 1944, the son to Bernard and Ann Lafleur Feldman. He was educated in Boston schools and later moved to Auburn having graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1963.
After high school he graduated from Leland Powers School of Radio, Television and Theatre in Boston. On Aug. 15, 1971, he married the former Helen Buzzell, in Poland Spring. Together they made their home and started their family in Auburn.
Howard deeply enjoyed the radio and broadcasting business. He was a member of Amateur Radio for more than 50 years. He worked many years for area broadcasting systems which included WLAM, WPNO and WGAN. Howard loved technology and had to have the latest and greatest technology available.
He had a passion for sports. He coached area baseball and soccer teams. He was very involved in local and state hockey. He was a past president of the Maine Amateur Hockey Association and locally involved with the Lewiston-Auburn associations. He was a significant part of organizing and developing the annual Lions tournament and bringing the National Midget tournament to Lewiston.
He loved his family greatly and enjoyed spending time with his wife, sons and grandsons. He will be sadly missed, but always remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen of Auburn; three sons, Lane Feldman and his companion, Holly Catlett, of Auburn, Adam and his wife, Rebecca (Corrigan), of Northfield Vt., and Scott and his wife, Dawn (Casper), of Auburn; a brother, Lee Jay Feldman of Auburn; his three loving grandsons, Ben, Eli and Isaac Feldman; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Buzzell of Bangor.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his father-in-law, Sid Buzzell.
