TACLOBAN, Philippines —  Ronald Lee Paradie of Lisbon Falls died unexpectedly on Dec. 17, in the Philippines, with his loving wife, Benilda, by his side.

Ron was born in Lisbon Falls, Aug. 21, 1961, the son of Robert L. Paradie and Geraldine Fowler Paradie of Lisbon Falls. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1979.

Ron married Benilda Enlias in the Philippines in 2010, where he spent the winter months. He spent the rest of the year near his childhood home in Lisbon Falls.

Ron worked hard in his younger, healthy years. He worked in a shoe shop and for 10 years at Phillips Elmet, now Elmet Technologies. The adventures Ron started and became very successful in his own piercing and tattooing shop in Brunswick “Ron’s Piercing Experience.”

Tom Burgess and Amanda Burgess Sprague came into Ron’s life at a very young age, bringing him much happiness and joy. Ron’s most prized possession was his family and friends. Everyone he met loved him. He could always put a smile on a sad face.

Ron is survived by his wife, Benilda of the Philippines; dad, Robert Paradie and companion, Aurie Cox, of Lisbon Falls; daughter, Amanda Sprague and husband, Mike, of Wales; son, Tom Burgess and friend, Nancy, of Auburn; sister, Victoria Dietzel and husband, Dan, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Taylor and Adyn Sprague of Wales; niece, Anjey Lajoie of Rhode Island; nephew, Logan Dietzel of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, all loved dearly.

Ron was predeceased by his mother, Geraldine in 1993; and his sister, Debra in 2007.
