LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen voted Monday to make the Tri-Town Skate Park and the recreation field a drug-free safe zone, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said Tuesday.
The park and the field are next to each other off Foundry Road.
Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said it was Lt. Thomas Gould’s proposal to make the area a drug-free zone, which doubles the fine on any illegal drug activity in that area.
It also connects the already established drug-free safe zone from the Livermore Falls middle and high schools and Cedar Street Learning Center to the drug-free zone that was established Monday night, Steward said.
Signs will be installed to delineate the area.
