LEWISTON — Hours after the Sun Journal published a story about Hope Haven Gospel Mission’s desperate plea for help with its Christmas toy drive, readers flooded Hope Haven with toys, gifts and more than $17,000 in cash — far more than the $1,000 organizers had hoped for.
