HOULTON — Albert M. Turmenne, 74, passed away in Houlton on Dec. 23.

He was born in Lewiston, April 1, 1937, to Albert and Verna (Violette) Turmenne. Albert grew up in Minot and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1956. He was a 10-year veteran, who served as a staff sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam war.

A war hero wounded in action on April 20, 1966, he was a member of American Legion. He loved his family, sports, playing cribbage and his favorite team was the New York Yankees. Albert lived in various areas of Maine including South Paris, Mapleton and most recently Houlton.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Turmenne and his wife, Nancy and their children, Amanda and Sierra and Craig Turmenne and John Turmenne; siblings, Richard, Raymond, Joanne and Donald.

He was predeceased by his parents; his devoted wife, Jeanette (McAlister) Turmenne in 2002; sister, Jeanette; and brother, Roger.
