AUBURN — The Androscoggin County Beekeepers will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the vestry of the West Auburn Congregational Church, 811 West Auburn Road. All are welcome, new or experienced beekeepers.
The meeting will feature master beekeeper Carol Cottrill, who will discuss processing beeswax for use in making products such as lotions, lip balms, hand cream and molded candles. In addition to her master beekeeper certification, Cottrill is a board member of the Maine State Beekeepers Association, secretary of the Western Maine Beekeepers and a director of the Eastern Apiculture Society.
The evening will also include a presentation by Charlie Armstrong on winter feeding strategies for colonies including candy boards and fondant.
