JAY — Jay police Chief Larry White Sr. presented two awards to department personnel Wednesday.

White named the department’s secretary, Donna Ladd, employee of the year for 2011.

Ladd always does an excellent job and encourages cooperation among her peers, he said. She places organizational interest ahead of personal convenience.

She is very efficient in her job and a real inspiration to others within the department, he added.

White also presented an award for professionalism for 2011 to Detective Richard Caton.

Caton is highly skilled in all phases of his job and gives meticulous detail to his investigations and always does an outstanding job, he said.

He is a true team player who inspires others and is a real asset to the department, White said.
