LEWISTON — Spectrum Generations’ William S. Cohen Community Center, in collaboration with the Good Shepherd Food-Bank and the State of Maine, has developed a program that provides low-income residents from Androscoggin County who are 60 years and older with approximately 30 pounds of free food each month.

The program offers shelf stable foods such as pasta, cereal, tuna, canned goods and peanut butter to those recipients meeting the above eligibility requirements. Pick up of the free food is on the first Monday of each month from 8 to 10 a.m. at Marden’s Surplus & Salvage, 750 Main St.

For more information or to apply for the program, call Lynda Johnson, nutrition coordinator, at 1-800-639-1553 or 626-7777 or email at [email protected].
