NORWAY — Evelyn Dennis Wing, 87, a resident of the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, after a brief illness.

She was born in Stamford Lincolnshire, England, Feb. 27, 1924, one of six children of Ursula and Robert Dennis.

She attended Stamford schools and later became a GI bride, marrying Richard M. Wing of Gardiner. They lived in several towns throughout Maine. Mrs. Wing enjoyed collectables, especially teddy bears, gardening, listening to hymns and the Salvation Army.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Brown and her husband, Peter, of Jay; her grandchildren, Rebekka Hayes and her husband, Chris and Derek Brown and his wife, Robin; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Nikolas Hayes, Kyra and Kyle Brown, all of Massachusetts; a sister, Brenda Mee, and a brother, Brian Dennis, both of Stamford, England; also many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard M. Wing; and three brothers Aubrey, Clarry and Trig.
