FARMINGTON — An internal review of the rescue response for a skier who died Jan. 12 at Sugarloaf continues, according to a statement released Friday by Franklin Community Health Network.
Although a fact-finding review began this week, the hospital had not yet completed interviews with all involved, said Rebecca Ryder, president and chief executive officer of FCHN.
A statement regarding the response by NorthStar ambulance service, a part of the health network, was expected Friday.
Canadian David Morse, 41, hit a tree at the Sugarloaf ski resort and died en route to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. The cause of death was chest injuries, according to a Maine medical examiner.
The Nova Scotia man was skiing with his wife and two children when he struck the tree.
The hospital, which owns the ambulance service, launched an internal investigation after Morse’s wife complained about the treatment he received from the ambulance crew.
