LEWISTON — Carmen C. Beaudry, 95, of Poland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at d’Youville Pavilion with her son, Peter, by her side, following a recent stroke.

She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 27, 1916, daughter of Dominique and Emilia (Beliveau) Cloutier. A 1936 graduate of Lewiston High School, she married Alfred J. Beaudry on April 11, 1942, in Ss. Peter & Paul Church.

She made her home in Chelmsford, Mass., for more than 50 years. She wintered at her home in Winter Haven, Fla., and spent her summers in Poland, before moving back to Maine to live with Peter. She was an interpreter in Boston during World War II, worked in the electronics industry and was a real estate broker in Chelmsford for many years. She enjoyed painting, braiding rugs, making wreaths, and baking cakes and pies for her favorite friends. She was also the Boston Post Cane holder of the town of Poland, presented to her when she was 92 years old, and was a member of Association Canado-Americaine.

She had a warm, outgoing personality, loved the outdoors and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Peter G. Beaudry, of Poland, her caregiver for many years. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Gerard D. and Therese Cloutier of Lewiston; her sister-in-law, Pauline Palesse of Plymouth, Mass.; her nephews, Robert Cloutier, Donald Cloutier, William Riffert, Paul Beaudry, Edward Beaudry, Donald Mullen and Robert Mullen;, her nieces, Carol Ann Borland, Lorrraine Abreu, Paula Constantine, Doris Maloney and Eleanor Griffin; and a special neighbor and “friend of Carmen’s,” Dr. Fred Jordan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred J. Beaudry, in 2003; and her sister, Lucille M. Riffert, in 2005.

Special thanks to the staff at Central Maine Medical Center and d’Youville Pavilion for the wonderful compassionate care they gave Carmen. Donations and condolences may be accessed online at www.albert-burpee.com.
