LEWISTON — Virginia L. Danse, 79, of Bibber Street, Lisbon Falls, died Thursday afternoon, Jan. 26, at Central Maine Medical Center, with family by her side.

She was born in Alexandria, Va., on the 28th of July, 1932, daughter of Oscar J. and Shirley Arsenault.

She was educated in Virginia and Lisbon schools and had lived in this community since her early teenage years. On May 14, 1949, she married Alfred “Dale” Danse, who predeceased her in 2002. She mostly worked as a homemaker as she and her husband raised their family in Lisbon Falls. She was a member of the Methodist Church and among her favorite enjoyments were dancing, sewing, knitting and socializing with family and friends, but most of all, she enjoyed the company of her family, children and grandchildren, as well as keeping a comfortable and welcoming home for them. Virginia was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves her four children, Brad Danse and wife, Theresa, of Virginia Beach, Va., James Danse of Lisbon, Jeff Danse and wife, Kelly, of Lisbon and Lori Williams and husband, Bill, of Woolwich; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Mike Arsenault and wife, Leona, of Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
