OXFORD — The Board of Selectmen on Thursday will discuss the warrant for a special town meeting on Tax Increment Financing projects. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office.
Town Manager Michael Chammings said a finished version of the warrant won’t be available until Thursday morning, but the warrant will ask Oxford residents to approve a new 502-acre TIF district that includes the site of the future resort casino, 315 acres of additional commercial property along Route 26 and parts of the public right of way along Route 26.
A second question will ask if voters will amend the TIF district for Wal-Mart from 12 years to 30 years. The special town meeting is set for Feb. 13 at Oxford Elementary School.
The board will also discuss junkyard permits, the town’s emergency operation plan and the former Robinson woolen mill. Chammings said several potential buyers have expressed interest in the property, which the town foreclosed on in 2009 for $244,920 in unpaid taxes.
