ANSWER: If Sun Spots was undertaking the same project, she would be inclined to use canvas tarps. You don’t see them around as much as you used to — everyone seems to use the ubiquitous blue plastic — but they are still available.

At tarpsupply.com, they have several different weights, so you could layer two, with the lighter one on the bottom. With a little air space between them, your coop should be toasty.

ANSWER: The helpful folks at Photo Finish, 550 Center St., in Auburn, 783-3354, don’t repair them, but they will take a look and give you their opinion as to whether you should send it out to be fixed. Unfortunately, often it is cheaper to replace than repair digital cameras.

ANSWER: Patricia asked Sun Spots not to use her address or phone number in her letter. Many readers do the same, but when you are asking for readers to help you find something, you need to provide contact information of some sort (phone is best, as many readers do not have computers), so they can reach you. Sun Spots doesn’t have the time or resources to act as a go-between.
