Mt. Abram 42, Dirigo 32
SALEM — Miranda Smith netted a game high 19 points to help lead Mt. Abram to a 42-32 victory over Dirigo in girls’ MVC basketball action.
Smith also grabbed 14 rebounds in the victory. Mykala Luce followed with nine points. Annie Dexter chipped in with six points and eight rebounds for the Roadrunners (9-7).
Alyssa Wade paced the Cougars (8-8) with 10 points, while Miranda Shurtleff added seven.
EL 64, Bangor 52
BANGOR — Junior guard Ashlee Arnold collected 24 points to lead Edward Little to a 64-52 victory over Bangor in KVAC girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Red Eddies (13-3) went 13-of-15 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to open up a comforatable lead.
Kory Norcross contributed 19 points on four field goals, including a pair from 3-point range, and nine free throws.
Senior guard Denae Johnson posted a team-leading 16 points for the Rams (5-11).
Boothbay 61, Lisbon 43
BOOTHBAY — Senior forward Alex Smith tossed in a game-high 20 poins to lead Boothbay to a 61-43 victory over Lisbon in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Seahawks capitalized on their height by outrebounding Lisbon and securing a handy 32-13 halftime lead. Alex Clarke contributed 13 points for Boothbay.
The Greyhounds (6-10) improved their gait in the second half, taking back one point before the final buzzer. Senior forward Jessica Campbell recorded 15 points.
Leavitt 80, Oak Hill 42
WALES — Junior point guard Kristen Anderson compiled 29 points to lead Leavitt to an 80-42 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC girls’ basektball action Friday.
The Hornets (14-2) rolled to a 43-11 halftime lead.
Adrianna Newton contributed 16 points, while Amanda Jordan added another 10 for Leavitt.
Senior point guard Darby Beaulieu paced the Raiders (4-12) with 12 points on four field goals and four from the charity stripe.
Gray-NG 60, Fryeburg 40
GRAY — Haylee Cote scored 10 of her game-high 15 points during Gray-New Gloucester’s 26-point outburst in the third quarter to steer the Patriots to a 60-40 victory over Fryeburg in a girls’ basketball game Friday night.
The Patriots (9-7) held a slim 24-22 lead before they dropped in 26 points and held the Raiders (5-11) to just seven points in the decisive quarter.
Cote hit three 3-pointers for the evening.
Maggie Chaplin scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds and Maria Valente helped out with 10. For Fryeburg, Sky Dole churned out 12 points.
Mt. Blue 58, Lawrence 25
FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue sprinted out to a commanding 23-6 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 58-25 victory over Lawrence in KVAC girls’ basketball action.
Gabby Foy led the Cougars (11-5) with 14 points, including a pair of 3-point baskets. Miranda Nicely added 12 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Junior guard Amy Hilton sank a trio of 3-pointers while dishing out six assists.
Mackenzie Conlogue added four assists in the win.
Shelby Rudnicki paced the Bulldogs (2-4) with six points.
Rangeley 49, Vinalhaven 42
VINALHAVEN — Taylor Esty poured in 17 points to help lead Rangeley to a 49-42 victory over Vinalhaven in a girls’ East-West Conference matchup.
The freshman also hauled down 10 rebounds, while classmate Seve Derry-DeRaps chipped in with 11 points.
The Lakers (14-1) jumped out to a 13-4 first-quarter lead and took a 23-17 lead into the half. Chantel Carrier added 10 points and four assists in the victory.
Izza Drury netted a game high 25 points for the Vikings (10-7). Alex Slivinsky chipped in with six for the home team.
