BRUNSWICK — A local man was charged with drunken driving after the vehicle he was driving crashed Friday on Route 1, police said.
David Lafave, 36, was northbound at about 8:10 p.m. when his vehicle crashed under the Route 196 overpass, police said. Traffic in the northbound lane of Route 1 was closed for about an hour while officers investigated.
Lafave was taken to Mid Coast Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. He was later charged with operating under the influence, operating after suspension, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and violation of bail conditions, police said.
