LEWISTON — Armand A. Meservier, 86, of 53 Autumn Lane, Lewiston, died early Friday, Feb. 10, at Marshwood Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Lewiston, the youngest child of John and Hazel (Bonenfant) Meservier, Armand was educated at Holy Cross School in Lewiston. He later joined the Army and fought in World War II.

Upon his return from war, Armand worked throughout the woods of Maine as a lumberjack. He later entered the textile industry, working as a mechanic in several mills throughout central Maine, retiring from the Bates Mill in Lewiston.

After retiring, he worked along side his wife Lucille, as a candy-maker at their store, Mary’s Candy Shop on Main Street in Lewiston. They sold the store, in 1995. Armand spent his free time visiting with family and traveling to sites throughout Maine, and enjoyed frequent bus trips to Foxwoods and Monhegan Sun casinos.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille A. Meservier; his son-in-law, Anthony G. Arsenault; his grandson, Christian A. Arsenault and wife, Casey, of Lisbon; two great-grandchildren, Hannah C. Arsenault and Hunter W. Arsenault; several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

He was predeceased by his son, Armand A. Meservier Jr.; his daughter, Constance J. Arsenault; and several brothers and sisters.
