LEWISTON — American Legion Post 22 will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St. Unit 22 Auxiliary will meet at 5:15 p.m.

There will be a 50/50 raffle and donated prizes will be awarded. A luncheon will be served.

A special memorial service will be held for the four U.S. Army Chaplains who gave their life jackets to soldiers when the U.S.S. Dorchester Army Transport was torpedoed off the cost of Greenland by an enemy submarine on Feb. 3, 1943. More than 900 U.S. Army personnel were aboard. The ship sank in 26 minutes. More than 200 survived.

All members attending must have a paid-up 2012 membership card.
