RUMFORD — A local man was charged early Sunday morning with domestic violence assault and domestic violence threatening after a police officer reported a woman standing on his porch saying she had been assaulted.

Peter G. Grasruck, 45, of 211 Penobscot St., had his bail set at $20,000 at the time of his arrest but it was lowered to $100 at his bail hearing Monday in South Paris District Court.

According to Capt. Daniel Garbarini of the Rumford Police, the female was transported to the hospital by Med-Care ambulance. Rumford officer Mike Belanger arrested Grasruck and transported him to the Oxford County Jail.

Grasruck’s bail conditions ban him from alcohol and drug use, and from direct contact with the victim.

His trial is set for May 14 in Rumford District Court.
