Students walk beneath exposed pipes in a hall at the Lewiston Middle School on Monday. Superintendent Bill Webster outlined improvements plans for the 1930 building to the School Committee on Monday night. They include bringing it up to code in 2013 and adding eight classrooms in 2014 and 2015 for between $6 million and $10 million. Other plans call for a $5.5 million expansion of the McMahon Elementary School in 2014, including a new gym, a one-way road around the school and a new classroom wing for 200 more students. The projects would have to be approved by the Lewiston City Council.
