YORK — Paul D. Miller, 86, of Kittery and Wilton died Saturday, Feb. 18, at the York Hospital, after a brief illness.

He was born in Wilton, Dec. 28, 1925, a son of Colby and Esther (Knowles) Miller. He graduated from Wilton Academy and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a machinist’s mate from February 1944 to December 1946, with a medical honorable discharge.

Paul was a member of the Teamsters Union, delivering new cars to dealerships throughout the country. He was also a logger during his time off and retirement.

He loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, gardening and riding his ATV.

He was married on Dec. 17, 1966 to Blanche (Lyons) Putnam, who survives of Kittery. Other survivors include a son, Linn and wife, Dorothy, of Kittery and their children; stepchildren, Joseph Putnam of North Berwick and Vieques, Puerto Rico, Bruce Putnam and his wife, Donna, of Krum, Texas, and their children and grandchildren, Janie Dame of Lecanto, Fla., and her children and grandchildren; brothers, Herbert and Alton of Wilton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Earl; and a sister, Virginia.
