After a slow start in the first game of the day, the Maine Renegades Peewee 2 hockey team came back from a two- goal deficit late in the third period to tie Groton 2-2.
Casey Cloutier got the team on the board with an unassisted goal with 5:58 remaining in the game. With the goalie pulled, Cam Niven got the equalizer with 1:05 left in the game to secure the tie.
Game 2 of the day was a hard fought 4-2 victory over North Reading.
This time it was the Renegades who raced out to a two-goal lead. North Reading tied the game up with two quick scores in the second. Thanks to solid goaltending from Jacob Smith and Kyle Labbe along with Kyle Mooney and Cam Audette anchoring the defense, the Rens were able to stick to their game plan and pull away in the third period.
Audette added a long-range, empty-net goal. Colby Anton led the way with a goal and a pair of assists. Cam Niven and Caden Smith each recorded a goal and an assist.
