RANGELEY — The annual Spring Dance Concert of the Lakeside Dance Academy, sponsored by the Rangeley Friends of the Arts, will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7, at the Rangeley Lakes Regional School gym. The musical theme for the evening is “Male Vocalists,” and selections will span vocal styles from Frank Sinatra to Jason Mraz.

Three graduating senior dancers will be featured in solos. Ellie Brooks will present her mix of lyric ballet and jazz to “Next to You.” Danielle Dutile will dance on pointe to “It Will Rain” and Ashley Shurtleff will be featured in “Dream On.”

Academy graduate Raina Eustis has returned to choreograph a hip hop dance for the upper level jazz class, and instructor Lily Gacki’s pre-school creative movement class will perform.

More than 50 dancers ranging in ability from beginner to advanced will perform dances in tap, jazz and ballet.

In the advanced level, performers include Ellie Brooks, Natalie Brooks, Chelsea Dresser, Danielle Dutile, Maddison Egan, Shelby Elmes, Emma Enman, Raina Eustis, Tala Ferguson, Lily Gacki, Jessica Gammon, Eva McMillan, Haley Morrill, Ashley Shurtleff, Isobel Straub and Shannon Wahlstrom.

Intermediate level: Genevieve Burgess, Skyela Burgess, Brooke Egan, Sophie Chu-O’Neil, Lauren Farmer, Olivia Hall, Sarah Keith, Amelia McMillan, Joanie Mitchell, Amber Morrill, Mackenzie Morton, Olivia Pye, Ellah Smith, Mary Page Swiney and Kimberly Villela.

Beginner level: Lily Day, Lily Emerson, Morgen Hyatt, Mya Laliberte, Winnie LaRochelle, Emmarae MacFawn, Bristol Quimby, Cassidy Strunk and Hali Swiney.

Preschool creative movement class includes the youngest dancers: Grace Feeney, Avory Flewelling, Bella Gooding, Anna Gosselin, Emily Gosselin, Emma Grant, Quincy Haley, Brooke Laliberte, Meredith McMillan, Bree Quimby, Eva Spear and Angelica Woodward.

Parents and community volunteers are helping with costumes, lighting, costume changes, make-up, hair and as general assistants.

A reception will be held at the conclusion of the concert on both nights. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for students age 7 to 17. Children 6 and under are free. For more information, call Pam Ellis, artistic director, at 864-2556.

The academy has been providing dance instruction since 1987. The Rangeley Friends of the Arts provides support through the grant program.
