LEWISTON — Blanche H. Barnies, 83, of Lewiston, died Monday, April 23, at Marshwood Health Care Center with her entire family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 6, 1928, the daughter of Wilfred and Mabel Bennett. She was married to Stanley F. Barnies Sr. until his death on March 11, 1974.

She lived her entire life in Lewiston, attended St. Joseph School, and was a life long member of St. Joseph Church. At one time, she worked at Smithwood products and drove a school bus at Hudson bus lines. Her most precious job was being a home maker and loving mother to her 14 children.

Blanche will be remembered for her special love of her 14 children, 28 grand-children, and 18 great-grandchildren, and all of her daughters-in-law and sons-in-law.

She will be sorely missed by all those whose life she touched with her loving heart wonderful sense of humor, and great spirit.

She is survived by Sheila Barnies, Lewiston, Blanche Levesque, Sabattus, Stanley Barnies Jr. and his wife, Lori, Auburn, Chuck Barnies and his wife, Diane, Lewiston, Peter Barnies and his wife, Carlene, Auburn, Adam Barnies and his wife, Tina, Lewiston, Martha and her husband, Dan Fortin, Litchfield, Bill Barnies, and his wife, Wendy, Lewiston, Melody and her husband, Jerry Poisson, New Hampshire, Nellie and her husband, Ray Levesque, Nevada, Tammy and her husband, John St. Amant, Lewiston, Mary Howes, Lewiston and Mike Barnies and his wife, Donna, Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her husband; parents; sister, Margaret Daigneault; brother, Wilfred Bennett; son, Steven Barnies; and son-in-law, Rick Howes.

During her time at Marshwood Blanche enjoyed making new friends and participating in the activity program. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to all the staff at Marshwood who loved and cared for her during her stay there.
