LEWISTON — Androscoggin Bank recently announced the recipients of four Impact Grants as a part of the Bank’s MainStreet Foundation grant program.

The grants total $14,000 and benefit at-risk youth throughout Maine and New England.

MainStreet Foundation grants are provided for local organizations that support the projects, programs and initiatives that foster the development of and support the welfare of young people. Grant applications are reviewed in February, May and November.

The grant recipients in the Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties were:

— Downtown Education Collaborative, based in Lewiston: $5,000 grant, which will be used to develop a College Access and Success Mentoring Program (C.A.M.P.), which will select and mentor 12 to 20 at-risk Lewiston middle school students with the goal of developing college aspirations and plans for successful college admission.

— Big Brothers Big Sisters, based in South Paris; a $1,500 grant that will continue to provide support to eight new Big Brothers, Big Sisters matches that were started with Safe Schools/Healthy Students funds that end on June 30.
