AUBURN — The eighth annual Empty Bowls Supper to raise money for Lewiston’s Jubilee Center’s soup kitchen and food bank will be held Sunday, May 6, at the First Universalist Church.

At the supper everyone will be invited to buy a piece of pottery, eat dinner and listen to local musician Greg Boardman.

Potters from around the state have donated hundreds of bowls, plates and mugs, and more than a dozen local restaurants have donated food.

Soup for the supper will be provided by Marche, Gipper’s Sports Grill, Hurricane’s Cafe & Deli, Wei Li, Marco’s Italian Restaurante, She Doesn’t Like Guthrie’s and DaVinci’s Eatery. Breads will be provided by the Bread Shack, the Italian Bakery and Grant’s Bakery, and dessert by Subway, Governor’s Restaurant and Sam’s Italian Restaurant.

This year’s potters include Carrie White and Lindsey Tomlinson-Peck of the Mudroom Pottery Studio in Auburn, Ash Cove Pottery, The Potter’s House, Cabin Pottery, Edgecomb Potters, Pottery by Celia, Georgetown Pottery, Saltbox Pottery, Christian Ridge Pottery, Yes Art Works and students of Saint Dominic Academy. Additional bowls will be sponsored by Alterations by Judy. Pottery prices range from $10 to $30, and dinner is free with the purchase of pottery.

The Jubilee Center is a community center in downtown Lewiston, open seven days a week. Each month it provides an average of 2,000 meals and 800 bags of groceries to people struggling to feed their families.

The supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The First Universalist Church is on 169 Pleasant St., Auburn.
