The new performance-based system will result in the brainwashing of our children.

LD 1422 is not a bill about standards-based academics but is focused on corporate fascist, workforce training much like the Skinnerian Pavlovian operant conditioning method (“sit, Fido,” and give him his reward biscuit).

Standards-based education is the new (acceptable?) label for the failed mastery of learning/outcomes-based education which resulted in academic failure with inner-city children nationwide. The Chicago mastery learning disaster was referred to by Education Week, on March 6, 1985, as a “human tragedy.”

Why is Maine’s Legislature foisting this “failed” animal training method on our children?

The reason? The U.S. Department of Education and its federally funded change agents were not and are not looking for improved “academic” results. Since 1965, they have been working toward a radically restructured education system — one which “trains” rather than “educates.”

Although the mastery learning method was an academic disaster, experimenting with it did succeed in very gradually institutionalizing the new performance-based system in the form of Reinventing Schools Coalition, or RISC.

RISC calls for continuous progress, no K-12, no A, B, C, D, F grading, no competition. It calls for performance-based individualized education, with students graduating anywhere from age 14 to 21, through a computerized work-force training system.

All of the aforementioned innovations are required by the school/business partnerships and other entities whose goal is to produce docile, obedient robotic workers to spin off profits for the corporatist, socialist global economy.

LD 1422 cannot be implemented without the very radical school choice legislation (LD 1854) which was, fortunately, turned down by the Maine Legislature.

Had LD 1854 passed, the pre-1980 highly successful, academically challenging, hierarchical K-12, elementary, middle and high school buildings, with their principals and superintendents (run by elected school board members) would have been on the way out.

The failed school-choice legislation included a complete takeover of all private education through the use of tax-funded charter schools with their unelected school boards (taxation without representation), and unconstitutional tax funding of private, religious and home schools.

The plan is now for your education money to follow children/students into adulthood. Why? Because the United Nations’ plan is for all of the world’s children (and adults) to be “trained” for the global economy and “conditioned” in new global values.

LD 1422 is the result of lobbying by the national neoconservative movement, the Maine Chamber of Commerce, the Maine Heritage Policy Center and its affiliated national Heritage Foundation that is supporting similar legislation in all states, the Nellie Mae Foundation, other tax-exempt think tanks, and other U.S. Department of Education laboratories.

The above entities are following the 80-year agenda laid out by the Carnegie Corp. of New York in 1934 and carried through to the present.

“Conclusions and Recommendations for the Social Studies,” funded and commissioned by the Carnegie Corp., called for using the schools to change America from a free enterprise economy to a planned socialist economy in the New World Order.

This new outcomes/performance-based system, and Maine’s acceptance of computers in grades K-12, will also result in the brainwashing of our children in the values necessary for life in the global system.

Dustin Houston, Utah’s World Institute for Computer-Assisted Teaching, made this remarkably scary comment in 1984: “We’ve been absolutely staggered by realizing that the computer has the capability to act as if it were 10 of the top psychologists working with one student … you’ve seen the tip of the iceberg. Won’t it be wonderful when the child in the smallest county in the most distant area or in the most confused urban setting can have the equivalent of the finest school in the world on that terminal and no one can get between that child and that curriculum? We have great moments coming in the history of education.”

Planned economies do not work, at least for the general population. One example is Cuba, where students are taken to the cigar factory for part of the day to do apprentice work. This is the totalitarian system that has caused so many people to escape communism and come to the United States to experience economic, political and religious freedom.

This animal training method will change our children’s education from academics to the Soviet-style, lifelong work-force training system. Government schools, in partnership with private corporations, will decide at an early age what your child’s future occupation will be.

Borrowing from C.S. Lewis, the noted English writer: “If education is beaten by training, civilization dies.”
