TURNER — Astilbes and hostas will highlight this year’s traditional ham supper sponsored by the North Turner Union Presbyterian Church, because a plant sale will be part of the Friday, May 18, event.

During the supper there will be a number of perennials for sale on a first come-first serve basis. The plants come from church members’ individual gardens. There will also be some cottage garden favorites like daisies and cone flowers.

The supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 18 at the GAR Hall on Route 219. The meal will feature ham, potatoes, vegetables and salads as well as a homemade desserts, breads and drinks.

An ongoing silent auction for the yearly handmade quilt is under way and anyone may put in a bid during the supper. The winner will be announced at the October Harvest Supper.

For more information, call 224-7913 or 225-3370. There is no set price for the supper but goodwill donations are taken at the door. All proceeds benefit the church operational budget and children’s programming.
