FARMINGTON — Lewiston’s Luke Cote scattered four hits and struck out nine hitters to blank Mt. Blue 3-0 in Class A baseball action.

Cote and the Cougars’ (4-8) Nick Hilton were locked in a pitching duel until the Blue Devils pushed the game’s first run across the plate with two outs in the fifth.

Lewiston added single runs in each of the final two innings for the win. Corbin Hyde ripped a double and single for Lewiston (9-3), while Shawn Ricker added a triple. Hilton, Jordan Whitney, Cam Abbott, and Charlie Martin all had a single in the loss.

Telstar 10, Boothbay 0

BETHEL — Logan Bartlett gave up one hit while fanning six batters as Telstar downed Boothbay 10-0 in five innings in an MVC baseball clash.

The home team scored nine times in the bottom of the first on four hits aided by Seahawk walks and errors to put the game out of reach.

Tyler Brown had a pair of hits, including a two-run double in the first while Casey Thornton added two singles to pace the Rebels (8-2). Corey Howard also doubled in the victory.

Gray-NG 6, Yarmouth 5

GRAY — Austin Keenan roped a two-run single to left center in the bottom of the seventh to cap off a comeback from a 4-0 deficit as Gray-New Gloucester edged Yarmouth 6-5.

Trailing 4-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, the Patriots (7-5) cut the lead in half with a two-run triple by catcher Tim Lerette. After a Clippers error scored Lerette, Adam Healey successfully put down a one-out squeeze bunt to tie the game.

After Yarmouth (7-5) retook the lead in the top half of the seventh with a lead-off double and a walk, Keenan connected on his third hit of the contest for the game winner. Emon Costello and Bryce Snyder each had a pair of hits in the loss.

Edward Little 4, Lawrence 1

FAIRFIELD — John Simpson surrendered only five hits while striking out six batters as Edward Little downed Lawrence 4-1 in KVAC baseball.

Nate Pushard’s RBI single in the first gave the Red Eddies the early lead. Josh Delong led Edward Little (7-7) with a pair of singles and a double.

Oceanside 7, Oak Hill 1

THOMASTON — Oceanside scored four runs in the bottom of the first with a pair of hits and some Oak Hill help en route to a 7-1 victory in Class B baseball.

Zac Roman had a pair of singles and Dylan Maloney added a single and a double for Oceanside (6-5). Jake Martin led the Raiders (2-11) with a pair of singles and double. Billy Joyce grabbed the victory on the mound while Gerald Glazier took the loss.

Lisbon 10, Carrabec 3

SALEM — Kyle Bourget went 3-for-4 as Lisbon dug out a 10-3 victory over Carrabec in baseball action Friday.

Bourget also pitched 6.2 innings, striking out nine batters to earn the mound win for the Greyhounds (5-6). Ryan Riordan and Mason Smith chipped in with two hits apiece.

Blog Dunphy, Mike Cote and Will Crawford each had a single to account for the Cobras’ (1-9) three hits. Carrabec scored all three of their runs in the first inning for a short-lived 3-2 lead.

St. Dom’s 6, Mountain Valley 5

RUMFORD — Matt Roy collected three hits as St. Dom’s narrowly defeated Mountain Valley 6-5 in MVC baseball action Friday.

The Falcons (6-6) took an early lead in the first inning on an RBI single from Tyler Mills.

The Saints (10-3) worked their way to a three-run lead in the fifth inning.

Following a walk and consecutive errors by the Falcons, Matt Roy plated a pair of runs on one of his singles. Aaron Schmitz followed with another RBI single.

Zak Johnson remains undefeated for St. Dom’s (4-0), while Tim Volkernick took the mound loss (2-2) for Mountain Valley.

Leavitt 10, Medomak Valley 3

WALDOBORO — Levi Morin smashed a bases-clearing double in the first inning to lead Leavitt to a 10-3 victory over Medomak Valley in KVAC baseball action Friday.

The quality and timeliness of the Hornets (6-5) hitting determined the outcome of the matchup. Jacob Irish had an outstanding performance on defense, accounting for nine Leavitt putouts.

The Panthers (4-7-1) put single vertical bars on the scoreboard in the first, third and seventh innings. Matt Lynch recorded a pair of singles for Medomak Valley.

Poland 4, OOB 1

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Winning pitcher Dillon Douglass threw a no-hitter and struck out nine batters as Poland shut off Old Orchard Beach with a 4-1 victory in a baseball game Friday.

The Knights (5-7) made their 4-1 lead after five innings stand up for the last two innings thanks to Douglass, who also had two singles. Teammates Kaleb Bridgham and C.J. Martin each doubled.

Poland used a nine-hit attack to take down OOB (2-9)

Monmouth 5, Mt. Abram 1

MONMOUTH — Winning pitcher Kyle Fletcher struck out 12 batters and didn’t give up a walk, and teammate Alex Curtis doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs, as Monmouth Academy sidestepped Mt. Abram with a 5-1 victory in a baseball game Friday.

The Roadrunners (2-8) were trying to hold on to their 1-0 lead, but the Mustangs (3-8) got two runs in the third and three more in the fourth.

Losing pitcher Josh Beedy had two hits and Ethan Boyd had a triple. Monmouth’s Josh Fournier and Evan Bowers each had two hits.
