The River Valley Farmers Market opened for the season Friday at the corner of Congress and Exchange streets in Rumford. Gail Cutting, organizer of the market and owner of Grandma’s House Bakery and Gardens in Mexico, is at her stand. She said along with more vendors, local musicians will perform at the site. On opening day, Lori Grassette and Bill Hoyt played and sang country music. The market will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. every Friday until Oct. 12.
