FREEPORT — Jo Dee Messina has staying power as an American country music artist.

Voted Top New Female Vocalist in 1998 by the Academy of Country Music Awards and Horizon Award winner in 1999 by the Country Music Asosciation, she has produced gold-certified albums and No. 1 Billboard Chart singles — and earned two Grammy nominations.

On Wednesday, July 4, she will take the stage in Discovery Park at a free concert that is part of L.L.Bean’s 100th Anniversary Hometown Celebration.

The four-day celebration, scheduled July 4-7, will also feature American rock musician Chris Isaak, whose best-known song is “Wicked Game,” at a free concert; and Olympic gold medalist Seth Wescott at outdoor games.

There will also be family-friendly outdoor activities, the 35th annual L.L.Bean 10K road race and a concluding fireworks display.
