AUBURN — Two people were injured and their car split into multiple pieces in a Sunday afternoon crash on Route 4, according to a police report released Tuesday night.

Beau Blais, 38, of Lewiston, and his 7-year-old passenger, Jayden Blais, were ejected from a 2001 Subaru after it was hit head-on by a 2008 GMC driven by Brian Lashua, 49, of Auburn, the report said. The Blaises were transported to Central Maine Medical Center, but no information about their conditions was available Tuesday night, according to a nursing supervisor.

There was no information in the report on Lashua’s condition.

Police said Lashua lost control of the vehicle, which slid into Blais, who tried to avoid it by pulling into the breakdown lane.

The crash occurred at 1:24 p.m. Sunday on Turner Road, also known as Route 4, the report said.
