DURHAM — Residents of Durham, Freeport and Pownal will go to the polls Tuesday to cast ballots for a $24.9 million school budget.

The RSU 5 spending plan was adopted at a budget meeting. Tuesday’s referendum validates the amount, which is $24,905,147. No figures are included on the ballot.

According to the superintendent’s office, the budget is $574,997 more than this year. Durham’s share will be $3,447,212; Freeport’s, $13,631,935; and Pownal’s, $1,760,851.

Polling hours and locations are: Durham, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Durham Community School; Freeport, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., high school; Pownal, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mallett Hall.
