CHESTERVILLE — A two-car collision Monday afternoon near a sharp corner Borough Road sent two drivers to a Farmington hospital, one with a serious ankle injury.
Franklin County Sheriff Deputy Christopher Chase said the accident near 372 Borough Road remains under investigation.
Chase said Darlene Phillips, 44, of Chesterville, driver of a Ford Taurus, was heading, east up a hill, while Dustin Staples, 16, of Farmington, driver of a Mercury sedan, was heading west, down the hill, when the two collided.
Chase said he believed one of the cars was on the wrong side of the road.
Phillips had to be extricated from her vehicle, Chase said.
“Darlene has a severe ankle injury,” he said.
Staples had two siblings with him, Alissa Staples, 15, and Janel Brooks, 17, both of Farmington.
Phillips and Staples were taken by NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulances to Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Chase was assisted by Deputy Sandy Burke as well as Chesterville and Farmington fire rescue departments.
