PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — According to the Portland Press Herald, one man accused of a baseball bat and crowbar attack on two Standish brothers has been indicted, while charges against a second defendant have been dismissed.

A Cumberland County grand jury indicted 23-year-old Peter Tracy last week on charges of elevated aggravated assault and aggravated assault.

The Portland Press Herald reports that charges against 23-year-old Nicholas Richards were dismissed.

Authorities say both men were arrested April 6 after an attack on Shane and Ryan Wescott that landed the brothers in the hospital.

Witnesses told police the alleged reason for the attack was that one of the victims was dating Tracy’s ex-girlfriend

Tracy remains in the Cumberland County Jail on $100,000 bail.
