AUBURN — A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life of Merrick Chadbourne was celebrated by the Rev. Richard McLaughlin Monday at St. Philip’s Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. At the entrance of church, Merrick’s family helped drape the white burial pall over Merrick’s casket, which represented Merrick’s Baptism into a new spiritual life with God. Delegations in attendance were from the Auburn Middle School Ski team, the Edward Little High School Ski team, members of the Auburn Ski Association and Lost Valley Race Club and fellow students, teachers and staff from Auburn Middle School as well as administrators from the Auburn School Department. Bearers were all teammates of Merrick’s from the Auburn Middle School Ski team, Hannah Arel, Becky Breau, Tanner Dillingham, Brooke Lever, Ryan Libby and Isaac Elliott. At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship in the church hall of St. Philip’s Church. Burial will be private in the family lot at Ridge Cemetery in Bridgton. Arrangements by Dillingham & Son Memorial Chapel.
