Troop No. 1, Auburn Boy Scouts, started off bright and early Friday morning on their hike and camping trip. There are 20 or more fellows in the squad and they are in the charge of Dr. Hitchcock, Scoutmaster, Rev. H.P. Woodin and Arthur Marston, assistant Scoutmaster. The first day’s march will take them to Brunswick, a good 20 miles. Saturday they hike to Bath and from there go to their camping grounds on the seashore. Warren Spearin, acting as quartermaster, went ahead of the squad on his motorcycle to prepare quarters for the night at Brunswick. The boys will be gone a week or more.

A two and one-half year old Auburn girl was reunited with her mother this afternoon after the child had apparently been missing for several hours. The child was spotted at the rear of Bob’s Tackle Shop on Newbury Street by Adelard (Bob) Croteau shortly before noontime. He called police and said he found the little girl wandering along the riverbank. The girl was taken to police headquarters and, shortly before 1 p.m., the child’s distraught mother called police headquarters to report her missing child, and she was told her child was safe and sound.
