FREEPORT — The Maine Innkeepers Education Foundation, affiliated with the Maine Innkeepers Association presented nine Maine students with hospitality scholarships at the eighth annual Tees & Textbooks event June 4 and 5. The program was designed to inspire Maine students pursuing hospitality careers.
Area students receiving scholarships are:
Jordan Handy of Lewiston, attending Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, N.Y., received the $500 Ed Langlois Award, sponsored by Sebasco Harbor Resort.
Laura Brown of West Poland, attending Husson University, Bangor, received the $2500 Women in Hospitality Award, sponsored by Nancy Gray, Maureen McQuade, Kathryn Weare, Jean Ginn Marvin and Marian Burns.
