NORWAY — Ruth Marion “Ruthie” Brown Kimball, 88, of Norway, died Thursday, June 21, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center, where she had lived for the past five years.

She was born in Keene, N.H., May 23, 1924, the daughter of Hollis and Lillian Hartford Brown. She enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and music, also being with family and friends. She has now gone to be with the one she missed very much, her love of her life, our dad, Edwin C. Kimball, married Aug. 17, 1946. He died Feb. 22, 2006.

In her younger years, she faithfully served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, worked at the old Norway Shoe Shop and spent many years as a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of AARP and VFW.

She is survived by one son, Steve Kimball and wife, Beverly, of Norway; two daughters, Sally Blankenship and husband, Dave, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Rachel Coburn and husband, Jerry, of South Paris; one stepgrandson, Christopher G. Fitch of Norway; one grandson, Christopher L. Blankenship of Knoxville, Tenn.; one stepgreat-grandson, Christopher R. Fitch of South Paris; one step-great-granddaughter, Annabelle Fitch of Norway; two sisters, Ellen Gilbert of Waterville and Priscilla Twitchell of Oxford; several nieces and nephews; many good friends; and her extended family at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center in Norway and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

She was predeceased by two sons, Stanley Roy and Edwin C. Jr.; father, Hollis; mother, Lillian; two brothers, Ellwood and Hollis; two sisters, Edith (Mayberry) Pineau and Stella Dupont; and precious cat, “Dollie.”
