TURNER — Zach Groat and Will McDonough belted back-to-back doubles to put Smith-Tobey on the board in the fourth inning Thursday, and the Bath post scored another run in the seventh to stave off Andy Valley, 2-1, in Zone 3 American Legion baseball.

Groat had two hits for Smith-Tobey (4-3). Nick Karkos and C.J. Hardin combined on a six-hitter, with Hardin working the seventh inning to notch the save.

Brandon Hodges singled twice and caught Josh Bunker’s complete game for Andy Valley (0-6). Bunker surrendered only four hits.
