AUBURN — Two honor students at Central Maine Community College, Erika Derosier and Kyle Forsythe, have been named to the Maine Community College System All-Maine Academic Team. They were among 13 students honored recently at a ceremony in Augusta hosted by the MCCS board of trustees.

The All-Maine Academic Team is part of the national Phi Theta Kappa program, an international honor society for two-year colleges. Students are nominated and selected for the team by their college based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership and service.

Derosier is a Lewiston resident and a student in the medical assistant program. A “Success Center” scholarship recipient, she has served as Student Senate treasurer and vice president of public relations for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She has volunteered in the Red Cross blood drive and has helped organize the Giving Tree and Spring Fling activities on campus. Derosier was hired recently as a medical assistant by St. Mary’s Health System.

Forsythe, who is majoring in precision machining technology, has also completed the automotive technology program at CMCC. A resident of Harrison, he is the Alan Day Community Garden vice president and a volunteer for Sustainable Oxford Hills and Transitional Oxford Hills. Forsythe is employed as a machinist at Helical Solutions in Gorham.
