AUGUSTA — Allen A. Shattuck died Aug. 5, 2012, at the Veterans Home in Augusta.

He was born June 7, 1945, to Edward and Winifred Shattuck Sr. of Bradford, N.H. Allen served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou Hersey, on May 19, 1973.

He was an avid Red Sox fan and was employed by Poland Spring Bottling for 17 years.

He is survived by wife, Mary Lou; Richard Ingalls, Edward Shattuck Jr., Timothy Shattuck, Peggy Ames, Nina Gillcash and Nancy Blidberg; many nieces and nephews; in-laws, John, Sheila and Bonnie Hersey; and close niece, Kim Hersey.

He was predeceased by Jack and Albert Shattuck.
