POLAND SPRING —The Poland Spring Preservation Society will present Two Old Friends, aka Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins, in concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at All Souls Chapel.
The two musicians play and sing a combination of Celtic and American country music. McHale, who has played bluegrass for decades, was inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Museum as a pioneer of bluegrass music.
Emery is a well-known performer of various styles of acoustic music, from traditional Irish tunes to vintage American country songs.
Together, their music is a mixture of American blues pieces juxtaposed with Irish jigs and reels. Audience members can expect “shout tunes,” plaintive ballads, original melodies, stories and more.
Tickets are $7.50 at the door and include refreshments. For more information, call 998-4142 or visit www.polandspringps.org.
