PORTLAND — Laurette Fortin Nolin, 89, of Montello Heights, Lewiston, and formerly of 30 Pleasant St., Lewiston, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, at Maine Medical Center, with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 29, 1922, the daughter of Albert and Rose Poulin Fortin. Educated in local schools, she married Louis P. Nolin on April 14, 1945. Mr. Nolin passed away in February 2006.

For many years, she helped her husband operate the family’s jewelry store, Louis P. Nolin Jewelers. A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she was also active in the Dames de St. Anne, enjoyed golf, and loved to play cards with family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, William and wife, Bonny, of Auburn and Paul and wife, Barbara, of Conifer, Colo.; two daughters, Anne and husband, Gilbert Blais, of Columbus, Ohio, and Mariette Bennett of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jody Blais, Billy, Nick, Sophia and Jordan B. Nolin, Christopher and Jimmy Bennett, Samantha and Jordan P. Nolin; and nine great-grandchildren, Cory, Cassidy, Gage, Britney, Nick, Holden, Colin, Timothy and Noah.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Adrian Fortin; a sister, Marcelle Fortin Nelson; two grandchildren, Timothy Bennett and Chelsea Nolin; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Blais.

The family thanks Dr. Mahesh Pandey, Dr. Jeffrey Brown, and all the staff and residents at Montello Heights for the love, care, and friendship they gave Laurette.
