Later this month, The Public Theatre in Lewiston will host the

, a type of worldwide movie jam with audiences in 300 cities watching the same 10 short films and picking a winner. Each is 18 minutes or shorter and originates from a different county. Screenings will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28-29, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30. Admission to the festival is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students. The scene above is from “92 Skybox Alonzo Mourning Rookie Card,” an American film about two brothers, Jim and Dave, who sort out their differences in extreme fashion when their father dies. For more information on the festival and to read detailed interviews with the 10 finalists, visit www.ManhattanShort.com.
