MEXICO — Police broke up a party Wednesday night and arrested a 55-year-old local man on a charge of furnishing alcohol to minors.

Lt. Roy Hodsdon said Mexico police, with the assistance of a Dixfield Police Department officer, responded to a noise complaint from a Holman Avenue resident at 10:55 p.m. When officers arrived, Michael Nickerson of Holman Avenue was arrested.

Nickerson also had several outstanding warrants for unpaid fines amounting to $1,010. He did not have the money to pay them so he was taken to the Oxford County Jail where he remained Thursday afternoon. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Dec. 4.

Six teens ages 18 and 19 were summoned to court on charges of possession of alcohol by a minor. They are scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Dec. 4.

* An RSU 10 employee reported at 3:22 p.m. Sept. 19 that someone stole three Apple laptop computers, with a total value of $3,000, from Mountain Valley Middle School.

* A Weld Street, Dixfield, resident reported at 1 p.m. Sept. 14 that someone had taken $450 from her bank account and spent the money in Mexico.

* An Osgood Avenue resident reported at 2:18 p.m. Sept. 13 that someone had taken two bottles of prescriptions from her home sometime between Sept. 4 and 5.

Vandalism

* The owner of Far East Restaurant on Main Street reported at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 15 that someone had shot holes in a street-side window with a pellet gun, causing $100 damage.

* A Mountain Valley Taxi employee reported at 10:59 a.m. Sept. 15 that someone had removed the lug nuts from a tire of a taxi as it was parked in the Mexico Plaza. There was about $100 damage to the vehicle.

Cruiser damage

* A Mexico police cruiser had about $700 damage at 3:52 p.m. Sept. 15 as a Mexico officer was assisting a Dixfield police officer make the arrest of Bert Holmquist, of Peru, for assault on a police officer.
